With over 25 years experience, Julie has lead major institutional change efforts as well as managed a wide range of conflict and sensitive situations touching all constituencies and including press relations.

Julie founded Stony Creek Strategy in 2022 to support school leaders faced with complex challenges. With thousands of readers each month, her Talking Out of School newsletter provides consulting advice on communications and leadership directly to inboxes weekly.

Before founding SCS, Julie served in a variety of school leadership roles including Assistant Head at Walnut Hill School for the Arts, Natick MA and Head at the Westover School, Middlebury, CT. She holds a BA from Smith College and an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College.
